Sin

I used to do my best to live my life for you,
Since then I've fallen away, my walk has not been true,
My eyes are green with envy, my swagger filled with pride,
Deliver me from evil, I need you by my side.

This isn't me,
It's not what I want to see,
When I look into the mirror,
I want to have nothing to fear, or,
At least not this,
Oh God, please save me.

I cannot help myself, my sin controls my life,
I need your loving guidance, please save me from my strife.
I can't control my anger, my thoughts are filled with lust,
I need your help my Father, in you I've placed my trust.

This isn't me,
It's not what I want to see,
When I look into the mirror,
I want to have nothing to fear, or,
At least not this,
Oh God, please save me.

I am not satisfied, I don't want to live this way,
I want to know I'm going to Heaven if I die today,
So with you I've turned the page, a new chapter will begin,
I will go to be with you, when you send your Son again.

God helps me be,
What he wants me to see,
When I look into the mirror,
I know I have nothing to fear, or,
At least not death,
For God has saved me.
